A coalition of prosecutors, legislators, and law enforcement officials are banding together promote a proposed ballot initiative that seeks to reduce the number of parole-eligible felonies instituted under Proposition 57.

Ventura County District Attorney Greg Totten is one of the supporters of a ballot initiative that would add 16 more crimes to the list of those considered violent when convicts are up for parole, in what they call a cleanup of Proposition 57.

A coalition of prosecutors, legislators, and law enforcement officials are banding together promote a proposed ballot initiative that seeks to reduce the number of parole-eligible felonies instituted under Proposition 57.

Titled the “Reducing Crime and Keeping California Safe Act of 2018,” proponents of the initiative are working to gather enough signatures to put it on the state ballot in November.
