SACRAMENTO — Out-of-state nonprofits would be able to care for unaccompanied minors who arrive on the border, under a bill unanimously passed by the state Assembly on Thursday.
AB 2642 passed 64-0 two days after it had sailed through the Assembly Judiciary Committee. It now heads to the state Senate.
