Sessions: Judges can’t drop cases from docket indefinitely

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday took away the ability of immigration judges to remove deportation cases from their dockets indefinitely while keeping them technically open, saying neither he nor Congress gave them the right to do so.
