SAN ONOFRE — Unloading a yellowed, 9-foot longboard from the roof rack on a Toyota Prius, San Clemente attorney Angela Howe was thinking of photographs.

“My husband calls this one the urinal cake,” she said of the old surfboard, grinning brightly. “But I figured since the pictures will be black and white...”
