A federal judge has certified a class of homeless Berkeley residents, ruling the city's disposal of their property violates their civil rights.

The plaintiffs, three homeless individuals and members of First They Came for the Homeless, represent a class of nearly 1,000 homeless individuals in Berkeley, claim violation of their Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights, and seek declaratory and injunctive relief.
