Hundreds gathered outside UC Hastings College of the Law on May 11, 1970 in opposition to the Vietnam War. At the time, law school enrollment had spiked as a result of the political climate as with the "Trump bump" now.
After several years of plummeting law school enrollment, applications are on the rise again. Some say it's a natural progression of recovery after 2008's market crash. Others call it a "Trump bump," a surge spurred by students' concerns about the tumultuous political climate following President Donald Trump's election.
