U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has decided to determine a case that was returned to the immigration courts by the U.S. Supreme Court almost a decade ago.
The attorney general has the power to unilaterally decide cases as head of the U.S. Department of Justice, but it is unclear if a sitting attorney general had previously taken on a case remanded by the high court.
