US files appeal of drift net fishing limits judgment

An appeal filed Thursday by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and several government agencies looks to reverse a U.S. District judge’s ruling that the government violated federal law by improperly withdrawing proposed limits on the number of endangered sea animals that can be killed or injured by sword-fishing nets in California.
