Central District U.S. attorney’s office affected by shutdown

Work in the Criminal and National security divisions continued unabated.

While federal court employees were largely unaffected by the shutdown, at least one of the U.S. attorney’s offices in California saw 75 percent of its pending civil cases stayed, with 70 percent attorneys furloughed, and is unlikely to recover soon.

The Central District civil cases were seriously impacted, while work in the criminal and national security divisions continued unabated, spokesman Thom Mrozek said Friday.
