Judge Margaret McKeown of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said common sense supports the majority's view that the U.S. government can waive federal environmental laws to expedite border barrier construction.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed Monday that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security can waive federal environmental laws to expedite the construction of border barriers in San Diego County, dealing a blow to state Attorney General Xavier Becerra in one of his many challenges to the Trump administration.
