Longtime San Francisco magistrate judge to step down
U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth D. Laporte, an expert in patent law and a co-founder of a group that trains young female lawyers how to stand up to harassment, has announced her retirement from the bench in October after 21 years on the bench.
