Noticing the privilege that helps me

Here is a moral dilemma for those of us who favor equality — or who would like to believe we are egalitarian. It is along the lines of a confession. I would wager that if in fact we were treated consistently the same as others, where that was not to our advantage and when it violated our expectations, we would protest for our privilege. Our sense of fairness is limited by our interests.
