California law students, West Coast universities sue over student visa rule
The rule had been eased at the outset of the coronavirus, but last week U.S. immigration authorities said students would have to attend some classes in-person to retain their visas.
Twenty West Coast universities filed a federal lawsuit Monday over partial revocation of a temporary rule that allowed foreign students to remain in the U.S. attending classes in person. It followed two lawsuits filed Friday by several Southern California law school students and the University of California regents alleging the change was made for political reasons.
