Remote working hasn’t lessened worker disputes, lawyers say

It turns out the opposite was true. While some employment attorneys and investigators say the number of workplace investigations they've seen this year has stayed the same, others say they've received a huge uptick in requests for investigations, with one firm reporting business increasing by nearly a third compared to 2019.

With the nation's mass transition to remote work during the pandemic, some workplace investigators in California were anticipating a drop in their caseloads. If workplace disputes stemmed from bad interactions between workers, employers, and their respective colleagues, they thought, then surely fewer opportunities for in-person interactions also meant fewer opportunities for clashes.
