Bills on who sets bail, revenge porn, police records introduced in Legislature

One bill would eliminate the discretion of superior court presiding judges in setting bail schedules for their counties and instead place that onus with the California Judicial Council.

On their first day back in session, California lawmakers introduced a slate of bills that could affect how bail is applied across the state, the time limit for prosecuting revenge porn and how law enforcement records are disclosed in criminal and civil proceedings.
