Attorneys angry about backlogs in civil trial proceedings

While appellate courts have plugged away with their usual calendars, albeit over Zoom, civil trials essentially stopped in March.

"Wait till next year."

It's usually the lament of a disappointed sports fan. But in 2020, it is the only hope state court judges and lawyers who handle civil trials have in the wake of the devastating impact of shutdowns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
