Nicola T. Hanna, the U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, announced Monday he is stepping down from his position, effective Jan. 8.
Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office, declined to comment on Hanna’s reasons for resigning. U.S. attorneys typically are asked to resign once a new presidential administration takes power.
