Postmates lawsuit sent to arbitration

In an order last week, U.S. District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez also rejected Postmates' argument that SB 707, which went into effect in 2020 and penalizes businesses when they don't pay arbitration fees on time, is unconstitutional and preempted by the Federal Arbitration Act.

A federal judge has ordered Postmates to commence arbitration with thousands of couriers who simultaneously filed arbitration demands against the company last year.
