Firms can’t provide lawyers to work in justices’ chambers, committee says
The committee said that if a lawyer works in the chambers, it is considered a gift from the law firm under the Code of Judicial Ethics, which could imply the firm exerts influence over the judicial officer.




Attorneys working at law firms cannot temporarily work in an appellate court justice's chambers, a Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Ethics opinion stated Tuesday.
