California, cable industry agree to keep fighting over net neutrality

The California Internet Consumer Protection and Net Neutrality Act of 2018 imposed net neutrality rules within the state that mimicked rules repealed that year by the Federal Communications Commission.

California and the cable industry have agreed to keep fighting over net neutrality. The sides submitted a joint statement in federal court on Tuesday reporting that President Joe Biden's administration's decision to drop a related case did not resolve their disagreements.

The sides said they were ready to go forward with a Feb. 23 hearing on the industry's motion for a preliminary injunction to block the state's net neutrality law. <...
