LA attorney disbarred after threatening to get opposing party deported

It was Michael P. Rubin’s third disciplinary charge by the State Bar. The first came in 1993 after he brought a loaded gun into the Van Nuys Courthouse in his briefcase.

A Los Angeles County lawyer was disbarred this week after threatening to get opposing counsel’s client deported and for misconduct in three matters.

Michael P. Rubin of Woodland Hills, disbarred Monday, said in a phone interview Tuesday he is now preparing to sue the State Bar.

“I’m going to federal court and I’m going to allege violation of due process and equal protection of the laws,” Rubin said...
