Poker player can’t hold onto attorneys in defamation suit

“I plan to have someone confirmed in the next couple of weeks,” poker-player plaintiff Michael Postle told Sacramento Superior Court Judge Shama H. Mesiwala. “Lots of challenges with that.”

It might be time to hold them or fold them for Michael Postle. After being accused of cheating at a 2019 tournament, the professional poker player sued more than a dozen defendants for defamation.

But in December, while facing an anti-SLAPP motion, Postle's attorney moved to withdraw from the case. Steven T. Lowe, managing partner of Lowe & Associates in Beverly Hills, stated that Postle was not complying with agreed conditions....
