Nonprofits’ drop lawsuit to halt some LA County in-person hearings

“We dismissed the lawsuit because of the changed condition in the community’s spread of COVID-19 in LA County,” Public Counsel attorney Jesselyn Friley said.

Due to the decrease in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County, Public Counsel dropped a lawsuit against the Superior Court seeking to halt in-person appearances for traffic and unlawful detainer proceedings.
