Kaiser Permanente settles race bias wage case for $11.5M

Filed in San Francisco Superior Court the same day the settlement was announced, the lawsuit alleged Kaiser failed to pay or promote Black employees equally based on its policies and practices.

After two years of negotiation, medical provider Kaiser Permanente will pay $11.5 million to settle a race discrimination lawsuit, attorneys from Medina Orthwein LLP and Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP announced Thursday.
