Walmart freed from $100M meal break class award

The opinion by 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Patrick J. Bumatay concluded the former employee plaintiff lacked standing because he had not suffered meal break deprivation himself.

Walmart does not have to pay a $100 million award to a class of more than 50,000 employees because the lead plaintiff lacked standing, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday.
