Senate OKs bill to require recusal in police misconduct cases if DA got donations

The California District Attorneys Association and several law enforcement groups have called SB710 an unconstitutional limit on First Amendment rights.

With little debate, the California Senate passed a bill on Wednesday that would require district attorneys to recuse their offices from police misconduct cases if they have received political donations from certain law enforcement groups.
