Panel’s confusing language may have stalled LA water bill case

New class counsel Brian Kabateck of Kabateck LLP said language in last week’s ruling from the 2nd District Court of Appeal denying the City of Los Angeles’ petition to stay the release of the special master’s report into the potential fraudulent settlement may have stalled the litigation itself.

An appellate court said the Los Angeles city attorney's office can't stop the public release of a special master's report into potential litigation fraud, but confusing language in the court's ruling last week could stall the underlying litigation and class member payouts, counsel said.
