Suit seeks to make ‘ghost gun’ makers liable for a Sacramento murder

“It’s an activist lawsuit filed by people who are trying to change the law,” Cody Wilson, co-founder of Texas-based Ghost Gunner. “It’s legal to sell our products in California ... Your state Legislature and governor have had multiple opportunities to change the law.”

The parents of a slain Sacramento Police Department officer sued 17 manufacturers of "ghost gun" components, claiming one or more may have played a role in her death. The lawsuit is one of several recent actions around the state and country against companies that sell guns or components that are difficult to trace due to a lack of serial numbers.
