Los Angeles County Court to appeal any Cal/OSHA COVID fines

The court’s Executive Officer Sherri R. Carter said in a statement the identified violations, including “failure to report a COVID infection within eight hours,” had either been corrected or abated and that the court would appeal the “yet assessed,” penalties.

Los Angeles County Superior Court said Thursday that Cal/OSHA determined no “standard, rule, order or regulation” had been violated in connection with an interpreter’s COVID-19 death but a member of the California Federation of Interpreters said she’s not convinced.
