Narcotics linked to money in raided deposit boxes, US says

“The FBI continues to retain the property because there is probable cause to believe that the funds constitute traceable proceeds of drug trafficking or were used to facilitate drug trafficking … which renders the funds subject to forfeiture,” wrote FBI Special Agent Lynne Zellhart.

In response to an order to show cause in a lawsuit brought by customers whose property was seized during the March FBI raid of U.S. Private Vaults in Beverly Hills, the U.S. attorney's office has submitted a declaration stating the FBI found one of the named plaintiffs' funds is connected to drug trafficking and thus subject to forfeiture under federal law.
