Lawyer says his ex-attorneys put his files on open internet

In his lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court Monday, Edward M. Lyman III claims Kaufman Dolowich Voluck LLP released his sensitive client information online after he fired the firm last year on the grounds it failed to disclose a conflict of interest when representing him against a sham malpractice lawsuit.

In what could be the first lawsuit filed against a law firm under the California Consumer Privacy Act, a Los Angeles lawyer says Kaufman Dolowich Voluck LLP posted his private client information to a popular file-sharing service where it could be downloaded by anyone.
