Class status denied for advertisers who said Facebook misled them

The ruling gives Facebook some breathing room in the lawsuit claiming it misrepresented to advertisers that it would deliver ads to users who satisfied precisely tailored criteria, including interests, behaviors and so-called partner categories.

A federal judge has refused to certify a class of 2.5 million advertisers suing Facebook who say the company misled them about its ability to reach specifically targeted audiences.
