San Jose attorney remembered for SCOTUS arguments, passion for justice
Philip L. Hammer was remembered by family, friends and colleagues as an active member of the San Jose legal community and a social justice advocate.

Philip L. Hammer, a prominent attorney in San Jose who argued a landmark First Amendment case before the U.S. Supreme Court, died Monday. He was 86.
He was remembered for his massive impact on the Silicon Valley community and his caring nature.
