State Bar won’t get more money, some jurors will, in new laws

But 2021 could signal the beginning of some long-term changes that will affect attorneys. AB 1452, which Newsom signed Friday, is the latest of the state’s attempts to create more diverse jury pools.

Attorneys won’t pay more to the California State Bar next year, but some jurors in San Francisco will see more money under a pilot program that could expand statewide.
