Judge raises issue of fees in $85M Zoom settlement

U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh questioned why the agreement only lasts for a year. She said that it’s “relatively short” considering injunctive relief in other privacy cases typically lasts longer.

A federal judge preliminarily approved Thursday an $85 million settlement to resolve a class action against Zoom alleging it shared users' data, misrepresented its privacy safeguards and exposed itself to unauthorized interruptions of meetings.
