A jury awarded a California Highway Patrol officer nearly $50 million for injuries he suffered when a motorist rear-ended him while he was trying to stop a speeding vehicle.
The trooper's lawyer, Khail A. Parris, said Friday the Oct. 20 verdict was particularly gratifying because the motorist's insurer, Victoria Fire & Casualty Company, disagreed on every point in the litigation.
