US joins Medicare fraud lawsuit against Kaiser
According to the complaint, Kaiser lied about nearly 500,000 nonexistent diagnoses to submit $1 billion of fraudulent claims, the Department of Justice announced, adding it will seek treble damages under the False Claims Act.




The U.S. government joined on Monday six whistleblower lawsuits accusing Kaiser Permanente of systematically defrauding Medicare for a decade, potentially exposing the health care giant to $3 billion in damages and penalties.
Kaiser in a statement denied the accusations.
