Critics say DA’s charging of officer is distraction from recall

The charges stem from a 2017 confrontation between two San Francisco police officers and a man outside his home over a noise complaint from a neighbor.

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin announced Tuesday the filing of manslaughter charges against a police officer who shot a man outside his home who subsequently died. Critics called the charges an effort to divert attention from a near-certain recall campaign Boudin faces.
