Judge dismisses LA county deputy sheriff’s bias suit, sanctions lawyers

Plaintiff’s economic ‘damages’ are speculative, remote, contingent and merely possible,” Los Angeles County Judge William Fahey wrote. “Plaintiff’s opposition does not even suggest that he has noneconomic damages, let alone cite any evidence in support of such a claim.”

A superior court judge granted summary judgment in a lawsuit filed by a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff, finding no evidence that he was subject to adverse employment actions after he said he blew the whistle on an interdepartmental gang.
