A San Francisco police officer pleaded not guilty this week to homicide charges brought against him for a shooting caught on his body camera. The encounter resulted in one of the largest pretrial settlements in the city's recent history, a deal that an attorney for the deceased man's family attributed to the public release of the camera footage.
