Coachella Music Festival sues over tribe’s competing event

The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles by David J. Steele of Tucker Ellis LLP, alleging that Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, which is not a named defendant, “is attempting to operate a directly competitive live music event that it has named Coachella Day One 22.”

Organizers of one of Southern California's most popular outdoor music festivals sued Live Nation for contributory trademark infringement after it started advertising and selling tickets to a competing copycat festival named "Coachella Day One 22" this month.
