73% of Biden judge picks are women, 65% are minorities
This is a sharp increase from his two predecessors. The nominees of President Barack Obama, a fellow Democrat, were 42% women and 36% minorities. The judicial picks of President Donald Trump, a Republican, were 24% women and 16% minorities.




President Joe Biden came into office pledging to appoint federal judges who better reflected the racial and gender diversity of the country as well as a broader variety of professional backgrounds. He has lived up to that promise.
