Lake County judge halts planned resort, citing wildfires

The ruling by Superior Court Judge J. David Markham is the latest in a trend of judge’s looking skeptically on developments they don’t believe have adequately considered fire danger.

A Lake County judge halted the development of a $1 billion luxury resort this week, saying the development plans failed to consider how thousands of future residents would escape if a wildfire ignited in the fire-prone area.
