Judge delays ruling on city attorney’s confidential emails after arguments

Richmond Mayor Thomas K. Butt contends the emails were not properly privileged, keeping them secret was a violation of the Brown Act and he had a right to post them on his personal website.

The Contra Costa County judge being asked by the Richmond City Council to enjoin the mayor from posting city attorney emails on his website postponed her plan to make her tentative into a final ruling after fresh arguments from the mayor's son, attorney Daniel Butt.
