U.S. Magistrate Judge Kenly Kiya Kato, one of President Joe Biden’s nominees for a vacant Central District of California judicial seat, came under fire from Republicans during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday for a book review she co-wrote in law school.
The former federal defender also was questioned about comments she made in the media in 2002 while defending individuals accused of having fraudulent security clearances.
