San Francisco public defender sues again over trial delays
The writ of mandate filed Thursday seeks: to enjoin the court from routinely continuing criminal trials; require the court to expedite criminal proceedings; give precedence to all criminal cases over civil cases and make all trial courtrooms and nonspecialized departments available for criminal trials.




San Francisco Public Defender Manohar P. Raju is again challenging the superior court over the criminal case backlog, alleging the court is violating defendants' speedy trial rights and its ministerial duties by not prioritizing criminal trials.
