Careful jury selection not about undue consumption of time

Under the new law (CCP Section 231.7), either the judge or opposing counsel can raise an objection if it appears that the peremptory challenge was made on the potential jurors’ ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin or religious affiliation.
