Napa Valley estate receives $33M appraisal award for fire damage

Christine S. Haskett of Covington & Burling LLP said that even though flames didn't burn several of the buildings in question to the ground, the intense heat of a wildfire created structural damage that, along with the chemicals and contamination, made the buildings uninhabitable.

Covington & Burling LLP secured an appraisal award for more than $33 million for a large estate in the Napa Valley that was damaged in the Glass Fire in 2020.
