Recent judicial appointee named in Alameda County juror bias probe
Brian Marc Pomerantz made the public announcement of his findings on July 5 as part of an ongoing review into potential juror discrimination by past Alameda County prosecutors in death penalty cases.
Recently appointed Contra Costa County Superior Court Judge Michael Nieto led an Alameda County prosecution team that marked Black, lesbian and Jewish prospective jurors for potential removal from the jury pool in a 2010 death penalty trial, an independent attorney leading a probe into the matter said.
