San Diego jury awards $11.2M in age discrimination case

Court records show 74-year-old Alice Roque was twice denied a requested accommodation in the form of a chair or stool.

A San Diego County jury has awarded $11.2 million to a 74-year-old former employee of Octapharma Plasma Inc. in an age discrimination and failure to accommodate lawsuit.

Alice Roque, who worked at OPI for 19 years, was terminated in March 2021 under disputed circumstances.
